We Need A New Derby Coordinator
After doing the job for many years, Jim Ketchersid would like to step down from his role as coordinator for the annual Monmouth County Park System's Outdoor Adventure Expo and Fishing Derby. The most recent one was just completed in May. This is a great way to introduce kids to nature and spread the word about TU and it's conservation mission. If you might be interested in serving in this capacity, contact one of the officers or Jim for additional information.
Project Healing Waters
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing is a national organization dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and veterans through fly fishing and fly tying education and outings. A very active NJ group works with veterans from the VA hospital in Lyons, NJ, holding fly tying sessions and hosting fishing outings at the Pequest hatchery and other locations, and they could always use more help. Please contact our own JSTU member David Bucko, the NJ State Coordinator for Project Healing Waters, to find out more information about this fine program or to volunteer some of your time and talent.
